What I Did Today

AI Update for May 25, 2026

Daily Narrative & Highlights
Your Memorial Day was a lively blend of family time, practical errands and shared entertainment. The day was filled with casual conversations, a deep-dive review of a traveling photographer’s work, and helping your grandparents by picking out a new doorknob at Menards. The evening was anchored by VBS decorating at the church, followed by pizza and an epic family movie night watching—and providing extensive commentary on—Avengers: Infinity War.

Top Highlights
🤝 Helping Hand for grandparents: You went to Menards to help select a new gold doorknob and deadbolt for your grandparents’ door, and you’ve committed to installing it for them.
⛪️ VBS Prep: You spent part of the evening at church, helping with decorations and logistics for the upcoming Vacation Bible School.
🎬 Epic Movie Night: The whole family gathered to watch Avengers: Infinity War*, leading to a night full of quotes, plot analysis and hilarious commentary.
📸 Photography Critique: You spent a significant part of the morning analyzing the portfolio of a photographer, discussing his travel, style and what makes a good photo.

📌 Key Follow-Ups
A few tasks and questions emerged from the day’s activities.

  • Install the new doorknob for grandparents. You picked it out at Menards and noted it should be a quick installation.
  • Help with band practice tomorrow. The band is practicing at your house for the graduation ceremony.
  • Look into the overheating issue with Carson’s car. You discussed the problem and potential causes.

Unresolved Questions
Are the used exhaust manifolds from the 2015 GMC Yukon worth anything? You wondered if you could sell them on Facebook Marketplace or eBay.

📇 Relationship Builders to Remember
Ashton: Has a job interview this Wednesday.
Lydia: Visited the zoo where she got to pet a stingray.

💬 Memorable Exchanges
The Infinity War movie night was a goldmine of funny and memorable quotes.

“This is the most infuriating part of the whole series.” — Your family’s reaction to Star-Lord losing his cool and messing up the plan to get the gauntlet off Thanos.*

💡 Idea Sandbox

Concept 🐞: Start a beetle farm in the lizard’s tank. You learned that if the lizard doesn’t eat its worms right away, they will eventually turn into Darkling beetles.
Concept 🤖: Use AI-generated videos for work projects. You watched a video where a photographer used AI to create “behind the scenes” footage of himself, sparking the idea.
Concept 🎲: Host D&D sessions at your house. Braxton suggested using the dining room table to give the group more space to play.

📚 Wisdom Distilled
While reviewing a photographer’s work, you articulated some key principles of the craft.

A Piece of Advice: “A lot of it’s not about the editing though. It’s getting the couple, like, getting them to look like… act naturally. You can’t get her to, like, fake smile.” — An insight on the importance of capturing authenticity in photography.
A Mental Model: A key skill for a successful photographer is being able to “deal with people” and “control them” when they have many specific demands, all while keeping the session authentic and natural.

Top Memories:

1. Ashton’s Job Interview: It is important to note that Ashton has a job interview scheduled for this Wednesday. A practice session for interview questions was planned for yesterday, May 25th. Your support may be beneficial.

2. Commitment to Grandma: You have made a commitment to install a new gold-colored doorknob and deadbolt set at Grandma’s residence. You confirmed your ability to perform the installation, stating, “I can. It’s like four screws.”

3. Band Practice at Residence: A band practice for a graduation ceremony is scheduled to occur at your house today, May 26th. The participants may require access to your sound system, including the iPad-based click track.

4. Vehicle Maintenance (Carson): Carson’s vehicle is exhibiting significant overheating issues. It was observed that “The hoses are tight and bulging.” This condition requires diagnostic analysis and repair to ensure operational safety.

5. Late-Night Social Engagement: Brooke received an invitation from Denver to attend a 9:45 PM showing of the film “Michael” in Altoona tomorrow evening. Your analysis concluded this would result in a return to your Ankeny residence after 12:30 AM, a factor to consider in your decision.

6. Technical Project (Data Chart): You have an ongoing programming task to correct a data visualization chart. The error was introduced when you “started dumping humidity and temperature into one chart and it’s messing up my other chart.”

7. Items Designated for Sale: You have identified items to be sold: used exhaust manifolds, camshaft and air intake from your 2015 GMC Yukon and a projector currently stored in your garage. You stated an intention to “look up and see if these are worth anything.”

8. Task: Digitize Photography Class: You have ripped video files from a collection of DVDs. The subsequent action item is to “copy them to Carson’s iPad.”

Our neighbor sent us this photo of a rainbow over our house! I thought it was especially kewl because it was a rainbow in the morning!
These are the worms we use to feed our leopard gecko. I sent this photo to AI to see what they grow up to be because one got away from our lizard and is hiding in his cage. AI’s Response: Those are superworms. If they hide and survive in the tank long enough, they do not stay worms. They eventually become pupae, then turn into darkling beetles.
Lydia was invited by our neighbors to the zoo!
Brooke and the younger kids got pool passes for the summer. They had to send in photos.
