Matthew VII
This is a poster I saw when I was a kid. My grandma used to buy me subscriptions to a magazine called Breakaway from Focus on the Family. I eventually lost the poster growing up but always had this image in my mind when hearing Matthew 7. So When I was about 18 I got a pointless tatoo and would now like to cover it with this. This is something I know I would never cover. Here is the verse, Matthew 7:13-14 “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.
Here is a transcript of the email between me and Focus on the Family:
Doug: My grandma sent me your magazine for many years when I lived away from her with my dad. During those years there was a poster in the center that was about Matthew 7:13-14 about the narrow gate and wide gate. It was awesome and I would do anything to get another copy. What can I do? Thanks!
Jamie Quinn (Breakaway): Thank you for your e-mail to Breakaway Douglas. We’re pleased to hear that you liked the poster we had in our magazine back in March, 1992. In response to your request, we’re sorry to tell you that we are completely out of this issue of the magazine, and have no more posters available. We hope you’re not too disappointed. If you’re still interested in seeing if you can find this picture, you might consider visiting the artist’s website: http://www.mylespinkney.com/. The name of the drawing on the poster was “Enter Through the Narrow Gate.” Perhaps you could send Myles (the artist) an email and ask if he might have this item available. We hope you’ll find this suggestion helpful. Again, thank you for writing. God bless you, Douglas.
